My name is Lisa Cole and I am an experienced mental health professional.
I provide high quality Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and am an accredited psychotherapist with the BABCP (British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists) which means I meet the high professional standards of CBT required by this organisation.
Allendale Therapy is the happy culmination of many years of dreaming of having my own private practice. I envisioned creating a healthy and joyful work-life balance, living in a beautiful place, having a career I love and spending quality time with family, pursuing life-affirming, and meaningful interests.
These are qualities and values that I bring to my work every day.
Within my psychotherapy practice you will receive high quality CBT to help you overcome anxiety, depression or any feeling where you may be feeling down in mood, lost in direction, worried, in a bit of a rut, or that life just isn't feeling quite how you want it to feel.
I am delighted to have helped many people over the years to recover, reclaim their well being and get back to enjoying life again. It truly is an honour to be a part of my clients' well being and recovery journeys. Ours is a partnership of respect and therapeutic collaboration to meet your personal goals for therapy. We identify where you want to be by the end of therapy (your therapy destination), we create a course of therapy which will take us there (the therapy plan) and set off on the journey together. As we travel, I will enable you to learn how to be your own therapist, we will gather in useful skills, helpful techniques and knowledge that will help you to stay well and we will put them in a "toolbox" for your future use beyond therapy. The aim of therapy is for you to become your own therapist so you can keep yourself well going forwards into the future.
